I am a writer located on the South East coast of England. I have had two books and over 500 articles published, mainly in computing and Internet related areas. I'm also a bit of an entrepreneur having owned and operated a number of pubs, restaurants, nightclubs and B&Bs, as well as a couple of software companies. These days I'm back to the writing though and hope to have my third book published this year.

Just DON'T do it! Nike, the world's largest sport clothing retailer, is immensely profitable off the back of sweatshop labourers getting less than $2 per day - and that's with overtime - meaning they work for 15 hours per day just to feed themselves. Tiger Woods has a five year, $100 million sponsorship deal with Nike. Every minute he earns $38 or a month's wage for a Nike factory worker. Every two seconds (day and night) he earns the equivalent of a factory worker's daily wage. Or how about Philip Knight, Nike's co-founder. He has a worth of $10 billion. About 75,000 people work for Nike overseas and earn about $450 per year each. That's about a $34 million wages bill each year, or one 300th of Knight's net worth. Knight could increase these people's wages by 5 times over the next 10 years, and he would still have well over $8 billion left.

The marble-like sphere on the left is the size all the water in the world would be if gathered up into a ball.
The one on the right shows all the atmosphere gathered into a sphere of sea level atmospheric pressure.
Both spheres are on the exact same scale as the Earth.

From the page: "A scientist who mapped his genome and the genetic diversity of the oceans said Thursday he is creating a life form that feeds on climate-ruining carbon dioxide to produce fuel.
"We have modest goals of replacing the whole petrochemical industry and becoming a major source of energy. We think we will have fourth-generation fuels in about 18 months, with CO2 as the fuel stock.""
